RSS model aggregator (D: website or program that collects related items of content and displays them or links to them), like Google Reader, is a feed protocol that's used to pass data around the Internet, sending content chosen subject items to be sent directly to readers once an update has been made.

Is RSS idea outdated, or did RSS pave way for Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest?
The RSS protocol is still used and is very much alive. Twitter and Facebook feeds are fed to users via RSS.
RSS just got a “face-lift”, and is marketed and used differently than how it was before.
-Feeds are arranged and controlled by user’s preference.
-Same idea as RSS, incorporated into their own style that is user friendly as well as aesthetically appealing. Layout is generally more organized, looks less like an email inbox.
Things that we have to factor in as Educators:
- How websites are reforming itself to stay relevant with today’s fast pace and evolving social media.
- To stay up to date with how our students are using the world web, as well as our colleagues, in a professional manner to network and stay informed.

LinkedIn’s awareness in reinventing their image shows how the world-wide web is constantly changing and evolving, to sustain it’s connection with users, and remain a competator with other social-networks, LinkedIn had to change to meet user’s needs.
Their marketing scheme touched on four fundamental elements that every young professional are concerned about.
- Bringing job openings to users, quickly.
- Allowing users to set up website news feed according to their own subject of interest, quickly.
- Investment updates, as well as economic updates concerning: business and real estate trends, quickly.
- Their ability to market and reinvent their entire newsfeed concept, LinkedIn Pulse:

- New Design- Easy To Use
- Customizable
- Joining in on the conversation, and receiving real time comments, sharing of articles within your own network as well as other professionals.
